This vintage Murano Glass stemmed cordial glass features a rare "Tre Fuochi" design with 24K gold-leaf and enamel flowers. Tre Fuochi or "three flames" is a technique where artisans first fire and shape molten glass, then use hot applique to add enamel flowers and 24 karat gold, and then fire the glass for the third time to let the design set in. The ruby red color of the glass with a generous cover of gold leaf creates a sophisticated and decadent Venetian look for your table. This Italian Murano Glass liqueur glass or a set of them is great for serving aperitifs or after-dinner drinks, including liqueurs, cordials, grappa, limoncello, brandy, schnapps, and more. These glasses come from a prominent New York art glass collection. They are in excellent unused vintage condition. Make a set of 2 or 4 of these glasses and give them as a very special gift for weddings, anniversaries, or other momentous occasions.
  • Measurements: This glass measures approximately 3-1/2 inch in height, and the diameter at the top is about 1-3/4 inch.

Workmanship

Murano Glass wine glasses, shot glasses, and champagne flutes are among some of the most coveted stemware in the world. The combination of very light weight, elaborate design, and translucent color is achieved through elaborate process of glass-making, where the master artisan blows and shapes the glass under a small flame. Turning the glass rods to keep the glass in the malleable state, the master creates a ribbed, faceted, or smooth glass surface and adds unique design touches such as flowers on the stem or accents of various colors, creating glasses that draw compliments during wine and dinner parties and make perfect wedding or anniversary gifts.
