This trendy Murano Glass pendant is full of color and life, bursting with gorgeous deep hues and lava-like patterns formed by glass mixture melting over fire, then cooling down. Using their unique skills in ancient glass-making techniques, Murano masters created this elegant pendant that reflects the uniqueness and beauty of Venice.
Measurements: This Murano glass measures 1 inch in height by 3/4 inch in width. The back side has a pattern of words "Vetro di Murano" (Murano Glass) and "Made in Italy" inscribed to confirm that this is authentic Murano Glass jewelry. The pendant comes with an attractive velvet pouch and the certificate of authenticity.

This item is a unique hand-made work of art created using special glass making technique, which results in unique random patterns, such that no two items are the same. In addition, some variations of colors and inclusions of millefiori mosaic pieces are possible.

I’m an so pleased. It matches very closely the earrings I purchased in Rome as a gift. The pendant was lost, and I am replacing.

Workmanship

Lampworking technique of glass-making, which dates back to ancient Egypt, was revived by Murano glass artisans around the fourteenth century. This technique is based on heating up a blob of glass under a small flame from a lamp or a torch until it reaches malleable state, then blowing and using simple tools or just hands to create various forms and designs. Lampworking allows the artisan's creativity to blossom, as copper sparkles, various minerals, and pieces of glass cane are fused together in this process to create rich colors and imaginative patterns that are always unique. Murano Glass masters often use lampworking method to create small jewelry, such as pendants, earrings, or rings, as well as keychains, barrettes, pillboxes, and figurines.
