This trendy Murano Glass heart pendant and earrings set dazzles with gorgeous deep hues and intricate patterns formed by the glass mixture melting over fire, then cooling down. With their artistic talent and skillful hands trained in time-tested glassmaking techniques, Murano masters created this jewelry that reflects the uniqueness and beauty of Venice.

The Murano glass heart pendant measures 1 1/2 inch in height by 1 1/2 inch in width. The back side has a pattern of words "Vetro di Murano (Murano Glass) Made in Italy" inscribed on it to help you rest assured that you are wearing an authentic Murano glass accessory. The pendant comes on a velvet cord. The Murano earrings in this set are square and measure just over 1/4 inch on each side. The set comes in an attractive gift box and is accompanied by the certificate of authenticity.

This item is a unique hand-made work of art created using special glass making technique, which results in unique random patterns, such that no two items are the same. In addition, some variations of colors and inclusions of millefiori mosaic pieces are possible. The photo shows an item that is very similar to, but not exactly the same as the one you will receive.

these are not as pretty as we wished for so may return them for something else. My granddaughter thinks she would like something in a different color and marked with the Murano on the back of the piece like her sister. You know how 15 year olds are, fussy!

Workmanship

Lampworking technique of glass-making, which dates back to ancient Egypt, was revived by Murano glass artisans around the fourteenth century. This technique is based on heating up a blob of glass under a small flame from a lamp or a torch until it reaches malleable state, then blowing and using simple tools or just hands to create various forms and designs. Lampworking allows the artisan's creativity to blossom, as copper sparkles, various minerals, and pieces of glass cane are fused together in this process to create rich colors and imaginative patterns that are always unique. Murano Glass masters often use lampworking method to create small jewelry, such as pendants, earrings, or rings, as well as keychains, barrettes, pillboxes, and figurines.
