These unique Murano Glass Cufflinks wow with their rich colors and elegant design. Crafted entirely by hand, they are made using ancient glassmaking techniques that call for melting glass with different minerals and creating patterns from slices of glass canes without a single drop of paint. To create these unusual floral designs, Murano Glass masters first create special glass rods with patterns inside, then cut them into small round pieces and assemble the pieces into elaborate patterns, which come out different every time. This labor-intensive process of creating colorful mosaic-like pieces from glass was invented centuries ago, and requires patience, skill, and above all- talent, the qualities for which Murano Glass artisans rightfully get accolades. Simple form combined with deep colors and unique design make these Venetian cufflinks a favorite of every stylish man with a penchant for European culture and art.

Measurements: Each cufflink has rectangular domed shape and measures approximately 5/8 x 1/2 inch. The stems are made of metal alloy.

Because each item is a unique work of art made by hand, slight variations of colors and patterns are possible.

It all starts with crafting special Millefiori canes with a pattern inside, then cutting them into small pieces and carefully sorting them by hand inside a Murano Glass factory in Venice, Italy. The next step is making a Murano Glass bead by hand under a small flame. Then, while it is still hot, dipping the bead into the tray of tiny Millefiori pieces of appropriate colors to create a unique design and pattern. Lastly, the master reheats the bead again to make sure the Millefiori inclusions are completely infused into its surface, finalizes shaping it, and gradually cools it down. Thus, painstakingly, bead by bead, the artisans in Venice, Italy create Murano Glass Millefiori necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pendants, and other Venetian jewelry pieces with beautiful mosaic patterns. This work has been going on for hundreds of years and today Murano Glass masters still use only basic tools and skills honed by decades of experience in their factories and workshops on Murano island.
