  • Measurements: The earrings measure about 2 inches in length not counting the hook, and approximately 3/4 inch in width in their widest part
  • These Earrings are a part of Avventurina Honey Collection. This sophisticated collection features Murano Glass jewelry in warm shades of amber and honey with copper sparkles using the special Avventurina technique that is unique to Murano glassmakers.
  • These Murano Glass earrings come with an attractive velvet pouch and a certificate of authenticity.
  • Because of how these earrings are crafted over a small flame with master glassmaker adding a sprinkling of copper dust onto hot glass and cooling it down, each earring will come out with a unique pattern. This went with the pendant. My wife loved them. (I got her red Millefiore Dog and Cat sculptures as well).

Workmanship

Lampworking technique of glass-making, which dates back to ancient Egypt, was revived by Murano glass artisans around the fourteenth century. This technique is based on heating up a blob of glass under a small flame from a lamp or a torch until it reaches malleable state, then blowing and using simple tools or just hands to create various forms and designs. Lampworking allows the artisan's creativity to blossom, as copper sparkles, various minerals, and pieces of glass cane are fused together in this process to create rich colors and imaginative patterns that are always unique. Murano Glass masters often use lampworking method to create small jewelry, such as pendants, earrings, or rings, as well as keychains, barrettes, pillboxes, and figurines.
