Murano Glass Christmas ornaments are made in the glass factories on Murano island. Millefiori Murano ornaments are crafted by gathering molten glass at the end of a special rod, heating it up, then immersing it into Millefiori beads sorted by color. After millefiori beads evenly cover the entire surface of the molten glass gathered on the rod, the master starts blowing the glass and shaping it with pliers to create a hollow spherical ornament. The glass ornament then goes back into the furnace for re-heating and the millefiori pieces fuse permanently into the glass, giving it the unique distinctive design, which is a feature of authentic Murano Glass.
