This elegant decorative ashtray is made using the most popular and distinctive Murano technique- Millefiori (a thousand flowers)- that has become a trademark of Murano glassmaking. Vivid stylized flowers on rich golden background create an impression of a fairy-tale quilt, whose fragile beauty is impossible to describe. This impression is further enhanced by the artistically designed shape of the bowl with its gentle curves and flowing contours giving it modern spin on classic elegance. This fine-looking ashtray will become the focus of attention in any room of your house and will really shine with all its gorgeous warm colors when light reflects on it. It can be used not only as an ashtray but also as a decoration that will brighten up your interior design. It also makes a great present to the special people in your life, as it is truly a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Pair it with other items from Golden Quilt Millefiori Collection for a more striking effect. The ashtray has a square shape and measures 3 inches on each side. It comes with a certificate of authenticity.
This item is a part of Golden Quilt Millefiori Collection. The unique Millefiori technique was used in the Roman times, then the secret to it was lost, and later re-discovered in Murano in the 15th century. To produce the millefiori decoration Murano glassmakers use a short metal rod with a small amount of heated glass at its end, which is then repeatedly recolored and dipped into a star-shaped mold. At the end two pieces of such glass are fused together and thinned out to create the famous millefiori pattern. The result is a remarkable mix of vivid colors and beautiful flower-like shapes that is artful, attractive and inimitable.
Because each item is a unique work of art made by hand, slight variations of colors and patterns are possible. |
